March for Meals 5K/10K Run & 1 Mile Walk

During the month of March all across the country and here in Fairfield County, communities will come together to take a stand to make sure the 9.3 million seniors nationwide struggling with isolation and hunger will NOT be FORGOTTEN. Locally, Meals on Wheels of Fairfield County reaches over 2,000 older adults annually with nutrition or other supportive services to improve their well-being, their overall health, and their independence.
5K/10K: Run and 1 mile walk- You can run or walk the Fox trail during our March for Meals event on April 1, and help end senior hunger one step at a time.
The Virtual Race: You can run or walk a virtual 5K/10K or 1 mile. Run or walk at your house, on a treadmill, in the park, or at the mall. Participate at your convenience any time before April 1, 2017. Virtual racers won’t qualify for the awards.
Registration: Registration is available on-line at http://www.premierraces.com or at the Meals on Wheels office, and on event day. To ensure you receive a t-shirt, please register by March 10, 2017. Event day registration begins at 8am.
Awards: Awards will be presented for top three male runners, top three female runners, top finisher over the age of 60, and top finisher child age 13 and under. Complete results will be available online within 24 hours at http://www.premierraces.com.
5K Run/2 mile walk: $25.00 Early bird registration before March 10th (t-shirt
5K Run/2 mile walk: $30.00 after March 10th (t-shirt not guaranteed)
Virtual Race: $25.00 registration before March 10th. (t-shirt guaranteed)
T-shirts will be available for pick up by virtual racers beginning April 1, 2017
Both routes will begin at Olivedale Park and will be an out & back. Participants will head east to the turnaround and run west back to the finish line.
