Dyslexia is a specific learning disability that is neurological in origin. Dyslexia is the most common cause of reading, writing and spelling difficulties, affecting one in ten.
Proceeds from the Dyslexia Dash will benefit COBIDA and its mission to:

Increase awareness of dyslexia and related learning disabilities

Assist dyslexics, their families and the professionals that support them

Promote the use of effective teaching methods
-
Disseminate research-based knowledge

About COBIDA
Who we are:
The Central Ohio Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (COBIDA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization formed to increase the public’s awareness of dyslexia in Central Ohio. It is one of over 40 branches of the International Dyslexia Association (IDA).
What we do:

Provide seminars and support groups.

Provide information, referral and advocacy services.

Supply an information hotline.
-
Provide an annual conference in Central Ohio to professionals in the field of dyslexia and related learning disabilities.
The 2012 Dyslexia Dash is the major fundraiser for the Central Ohio Branch of the International Dyslexia Association (COBIDA). All funds raised stay in Central Ohio and go to assist dyslexics, their families and supporting professionals with early detection and intervention; teacher training and tutoring services; as well as student scholarships. In addition, COBIDA provides awareness to local communities through parent education classes and offering teen support groups.
We are challenging individuals and teams to help us raise money for this worthy cause by collecting pledges. Special prizes will be awarded to the individuals and teams who collect the highest pledge amounts. CLICK HERE to download a pledge form. All pledges are due at Race Day sign-in. Any participant who turns in $150 in pledge money on race day will receive a complementary race entry.

Time: 5K Run/Walk/Doze 8:30am start time, registration begins at 7:30am

5K (note youth is ages 18 & Under):

$25 per adult through October 1st, $30 October 2nd through race day

$15 per youth through October 1st, $20 October 2nd through race day
-
$150 per adult team of up to 10 through October 1, $200 per adult team of up to 10 October 2nd through race day

$100 per youth team of up to 10 through October 1st, $125 per youth team of up to 10 October 2nd through race day

Team Entry Note: For each team, a team captain will register and pay for ALL team members. The team captain should collect each team member's registration information prior to registering and will be able to add each person to your team during on-line registration.

Virtual Racers or Dozers welcome - sleep in and still get your commemorative t-shirt!! Registration for Dozers is $25 through October 1st, $30 October 2nd through race day.

Top 3 male, female and youth finishers will be rewarded.
