Can You Beat Beethoven?

Organized by the Westerville Symphony at Otterbein University, this unique 5K road race will challenge runners to “Beat Beethoven” as they run through Westerville.   The race will take place on Saturday, August 11, 2012 and will kick-off at 8am at Alum Creek Park and finish at Otterbein University's Memorial Stadium.  WOSU will broadcast Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony on Classical 101.1 FM and runners will enjoy this famous symphonic work at ten music stations set up throughout the course.  All runners who finish the race before the symphony concludes (approximately 32 minutes) will receive a voucher for one ticket to the Masterworks concert of their choice during the 2012-2013 Westerville Symphony Season.

Registration will open at 7am on the day of the race.  Registration packets will be available for pickup at Fleet Feet on Thursday, August 9 and Friday, August 10.

A portion of the funds raised from this event will support the creation of a new scholarship program for music students from Westerville City Schools who wish to attend Otterbein University.
