About Stop The Suffering

Stop the Suffering exists for the sole purpose of rescuing dogs and cats from any shelter that is about to euthanize them.

The cats and dogs rescued by Stop the Suffering are loving animals on the “euthanasia short list”. Contrary to popular belief, perfectly healthy and loveable dogs and cats are euthanized every day simply because they have not been claimed or adopted. In many cases, we rescue an animal hours before it is scheduled to be put to sleep, giving the animal an opportunity to be adopted by a loving family and a second chance at life.
Stop The Suffering is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization working to save the lives of dogs and cats in high kill shelters, primarily in rural Ohio. We are a completely volunteer organization and we can't do it without you. Please consider volunteering, fostering, adopting or donating to help us. We could not continue our work if not for generous people like yourself. 100% of every donation given will help save the life of a dog or cat.
The objective of Dash For The Dogs is to raise desperately needed funds to help cover the cost of shelter pull fees, spay/neuter, transportation fees and food for our rescued animals.

  • From Interstate 270, exit Cemetery Road (Hilliard)
    Turn west onto Cemetery Road toward Hilliard
    Proceed past Main Street where Cemetery Road merges with Scioto Darby RoadProceed on Scioto Darby to Cosgray Road, turn right (at the CVS)

  • Time: 8:30am 5K start time; registration begins at 7:30am
  • Entry Fee: $25 through September 10th, $30 race day.

    • Top 3 male and female will receive awards

  • How to Register
    • Online and day of race starting at 7:30am
  • Race Packets

    • Shirts will be provided to the first 75 registrants, additional shirts can be purchased on race day for $10

    • Packets can be picked up on race day
